July

Carole Morris, who took these photos on July the 17th, commented:

There must have been a ‘storm surge’ of at least a foot as there is a vertical tide mark of duck weed on the stone wall next to the deer slope.

Mrs Moorhen has at least two tiny chicks. Couldn’t get photo.

We walked up the inflow end to look at the debris, and there is a very large Ash tree limb in the lake above the island. It has come down off the tree (at the bottom of one of the gardens).

In mid-July heavy downpours fed the lake as neighbouring road drains discharged  their surplus into it.
In early July rwo submerged plant holders, purchased with funds from a generous donation, appeared in the lake. This one is covered in purple loosestrife.
