July : 'The leafy month of June' passes and 'Child of the sun, refulgent summer comes', bringing with it the need for a working-party dedicated  to seed collection. This duly assembled on the 10th, with all ages represented.

Other work continued as well, with Ken, Ian, Guy and Duncan removing some of the luxuriant undergrowth that chokes our more recent plantings. 

Footnote: Guy has observed hornets on several occasions at the upper end of the Reserve. He recommends the following website as a good source of information:

Apparently hornets are rather more benign than their appearance suggests and are very unlikely to attack unless provoked. Their sting is similar to that of a wasp in severity.
