August has seen few lazy days of summer so far, but there is colour in the Reserve, and the meadows are again well covered with flowers.
Neil's bees are flourishing and their hive has expanded vertically. They don't have to travel far to find nectar.
Ken has returned to the fray after treatment for a broken ankle, and is seen here helping Ian. Early hints of autumn appear in the chestnut that overhangs the lake, and the blackberry harvest is already under way. Our ducklings are mostly well into their teens now, apart from the four survivors of the latest family. Photo: John Morris Photo: John Morris Both Ian and Ken have given many hours of their time to the Reserve on Tuesday mornings over the years.
