A polite new notice has appeared by the lake.
These two photos show the benign effects of Mark's strategically placed fencing.  The grass near the old oak is recovering well and the new hedging seen to the right is no longer at risk from a short cut that had developed through it.

April 10th from Carole: We went down today to see if the ducklings were around. No signs of them.(Ian had been down earlier, re-installing safety netting by the outlet sluice, and reported having seen eight ducklings following their mother).

This (duck)got very friendly and followed us begging for food. When I managed to touch her she seemed very thin. I am really feeding her up for Christmas!!!!

White bluebell and other photos were taken on 13/4/12

April 8th: Easter Sunday and what did we see, some Easter ducklings. They are very small and Mrs had taken them to the very far side of the lake, hence not terribly good pics. We hope they are still there tomorrow as it is rather cold, and supposed to rain tomorrow, they did look very vulnerable. So hopefully nine get through.
