14th July. Carole Morris sent in some photos with the following comments: ' We have been on holiday so went down the reserve today for the first time in about 4 weeks.... New ducklings and 'grass as high as an elephant's eye' (showing my age).
We tried to get to the bee hive, but it was covered in vegetation'.

The small photos on this page will enlarge if clicked.

Despite all the rain that preceded the summer's recent late arrival, the level of the lake has fallen. There is a steady flow into the sluice from the leak in the dam. Two ducklings still survive.
