11th June: Despite the brisk flow through the leak, the lake remains full. Once again the ducklings have disappeared.
Despite the rainy onslaught the paths in general are coping well, though in places they need widening and re-mulching. There are plans to restore the stretches of woodland path where many of the steps are merging into mud.
2nd June: The Morris's managed to get a photo of the elusive moorchicks.
5th June: Ducklings appear and disappear on the lake. They are not having an easy time. There is a surplus of drakes at present and their attempts to mate with the few remaining ducks tend to disrupt family life.
The ducks take evasive action, leaving the ducklings to scoot around on their own. It is difficult to tell at present whether the 4 or 5 remaining ducklings belong to the same family.
The meadows are sodden; large puddles linger in unusual places.
Some members of the public remain devoted to walking up the centre of the middle field. Someone has gone to the trouble of removing a section of the fence guiding those entering from the lower field towards the new path round the edge of the middle field.
